Blackhavens Icelandic Roving in Gray, Black and White

From the Icelandic flock of Shellie Greyhavens, this is beautiful stuff, I've had the pleasure to play with some as Shellie and I did a fiber swap at last years gathering. It spins up nicely and felts beautifully using either the wet or needle felting technique.
Thanks so much to Shellie Greyhavens and her flock of Icelandic Sheep for this incredible donation to the AISC. To learn more about Shellie's Icelandic Sheep, Great Pyrenees and Icelandic Sheepdogs go to:

The Licorice Mystery Book Basket

This book was written by an Icelandic author for the American children he met in the 1940's. It chronicles a year of a young boys life in Iceland; beginning with the first day of summer, then the spring round up, shepherding in the summertime, his hay making adventers, the fall sheep round up, through to winter and spring again. The young boy even has a shaggy dog named Skuggi, could this be an Icelandic Sheepdog??? Included in the basket is your very own Icelandic Ram to round up, some licorice to nibble while reading (every Icelandic boys favorite candy) or enjoy a giant Blueberry Lollipop. This book is a retired Boston Public library book, with its original binding. Its jacket did not survive but they did manage to preserve the very front of it. I was only able to locate one other book that actually had the jacket. It is still bound well.

Donated by the boys of Fox Meadow, Viking Hippi, Isi Kaffisukkulathi and Fox Meadow Jolasveinn who hope every little boy gets to round up sheep at least once! To see them and their flock check out their blog at http://fox-meadow.blogspot.com/

The Strawberry Lemonade Mystery Book Basket
A delightful book intended for readers about age 12 but it would be something any Icelandic Sheepdog owner and Icelandophile would enjoy. Written by an Icelandic Author in 1945 for American children so that they would understand the Icelandic lifestyle. This story chronicles a trip to Iceland by an American girl whose Grandmother is Icelandic and her adventures there. This is a retired library book, the jacket did not survive the almost 70 years and appears to be rebound but is in good shape otherwise. While reading this sweet story, sip some strawberry lemonade, munch on strawberry cookies and cuddle a a needle and wet felted "sheep lady rag doll" named Gilitrutta after a good friend in Iceland's favorite lead ewe made of shetland and Icelandic wool.
Donated by the lovely ladies of Fox-Meadow Icelandics Viking Lilja and Thordunu Leppatuska "Elsie" who hope that all little girls get to visit Iceland one day http://www.fox-meadow.com/
