AISC Members Aldebaran Gryla and Isi Kaffisukkulathi would like to introduce the Atlantshaf Area to our littlest members. Born just this morning 9/20/2007 these frisky little pups are already active and hardy, just look at them crawling on mom, Gryla. This is the very first litter sired by a Chocolate Tri-color Icelandic Sheepdog in the United States. The Chocolate Tri-color is the rarest of coloring in this rare breed. There may be only 18 of them World WideThursday, September 20, 2007

The Hagerstown Maryland ISAA 10th Anniversary Gathering and AISC Fun Match

On August 25, 2007 the largest Gathering of Icelandic Sheepdogs in the history of the breed in North America came to Hagerstown, Maryland. Old friends who had only met via the Internet finally were able to exchange hugs. Dogs we all knew so well through photos, we were able to see in motion and snuggle. Folks came from all over the Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania area and also from as far away as Washington, Kansas, Indiana, New York and Ohio to take part in this Icelandic Sheepdog Community event. Thanks to all of those folks who lent a hand to make things happen and all those who made donations so that they may happen again. Special thanks to AKC Judge Karin Ashe of the Mason Dixon Judges Association, CGC Evaluator Leslie Horton, Sharon Pappas for volunteering her time, Pastor Eleanor Doub for doing a beautiful Blessing to start the day and to Bob and Elisabet Stacy-Hurley for being brave enough to host the event!
Forty one dogs answered the call to Gather despite the high temperatures for a fabulous conformation match; 32 dogs competed for the title of Best of Match. Here are just a few photos courtesy of photographer Melissa Marsik mmarsik@hotmail.com to help celebrate the day.
The AISC Fun Match in Hagerstown has been the inspiration for 7 newspaper articles, 3 in Maryland ( one prior to the match) and 4 in Iceland to date.

New CGC Title Holders frm The Hagerstown Fun Match
Congratulations to all those folks who were able to pass their CGC's! Thanks to evaluator Leslie Horton, Laura Miller, and Bob Mumper who was drafted to be the leash holder during the 10 minute owner absence because he had a watch on!
Congratulations to Jeff Kessler and Teddy, the Portuguese Water Dog and honorary ISD. Teddy came to hang-out with his Best Friend Forever, ISD Gardner Ridge Nikki and left with a CGC title!
Jeff Kessler and Gardner Ridge Isis "Nikki" did pretty well at the AISC Fun Match, Nikki not only placed third in the Open Long Haired Bitches Class but also mastered the CGC and came home with a title

Sand Creek Reykja Kutur followed his Mom Nor Star Cilia and Dad Kutur's lead at the Sequim, Washington Fun Match in June, earning himself a Canine Good Citizen title at the Hagerstown AISC Fun Match with his partner Anita Pryor.

New Members in Virginia! Viking Gaela and Viking Spathass
Viking Spathass "Viking" is an incredible deep red stud from the "Deck of Cards" litter of Viking Bjork and Virkis Tyri. At the Hagerstown, Maryland Gathering and AISC Fun Match, "Viking" trotted off with the Best Open Medium Coat award.
Viking Gaela is a lovely little girl who really loves to swim, boss her housemate Viking Spathass around and snuggling with her people.
